White’s Season 2: Winter

Family Navigation: Season 1: Fall | Season 3: Spring

We are back with Snow White and this Disney Princess challenge! I’m excited to be back to this family. They are still truly a pretty difficult challenge, having almost no money and not making very much. It’s also now winter, which is going to make the garden less profitable as well. Last time, Snow moved in and had Joy and Daphne with the creature keeper. She’s kept chickens and a llama along with her plants in the northernmost lot in Henford. Let’s dig in!

It’s 4 AM and Snow White seems to have a pattern of being at the pub when we join her at this hour. Snow, go home, you have 2 little girls at home. We send Snow home so she can be there when the girls need something.

Once the morning is here Snow heads down to sell some of the various produce and handmade items she has. I realized we can’t sell knitted stuff at the stalls, at least this one, so those we will go ahead and sell on plopsy.

Back at home, it’s time to give love to the animals of the farm and make sure they are taken care of for the day. Our chickens and llama are all doing well and Snow gets the chores done quickly as it is quite a snowy start to the winter already. This winter is going to be a bit difficult I think.

Once she is back inside Snow takes care of little Joy. It’s cold in the house, and my sims also seem to be “suffering” from the never-changing into appropriate weather outfits again. While working on some more cross-stitch Joy works on maxing out her communication.

Another trip into town brings back our original stall vendor and Snow is happy to chat with her again. While we are there we take some of the errands that she has to offer and are able to immediately complete one. This helps with some money, which is really needed and gives Snow some other fun gifts.

Back at home once again and it’s crafting time again. Snow still isn’t very far in her knitting skill and it takes her quite a while to make one single object. I’m not sure if she will be able to make baby onesies for any of her own kids. We will find out.

It’s time for little Daphne to grow into a toddler, which is great for Snow. Now, while toddlers still take some work, she can get a lot more sleep without Daphne needing things every few hours. It’s going to be time for a new baby before too long. For now, though, we have 2 toddlers. Daphne is a Clingy toddler, which might make her a little more work.

The girls are super cute, and while two toddlers can be a lot of effort, Snow takes really good care of them. Joy’s birthday is coming up soon and she is almost through all her skills, and Daphne is just starting out but doing really good so far. I don’t see either of them having issues getting to at least Happy Toddler.

With Dapne a toddler and Joy getting ready to be a child, it’s time for Carson to come over and help Snow get another baby started. We don’t check to see if she’s pregnant right away but I’m sure she probably is. This also shows that we expanded the house a tiny bit. Snow has her own room upstairs with a bed and not a whole lot else.

Joy, while trying to wrap up the last 2 skills she needed surprised me by growing up. I had a cake ready to go and was preparing to take her to it and she ran out of time. Joy is a Happy Toddler, having been just short in both imagination and thinking. When she grows up, according to the rules, she needs to have a “bad” trait. So for Joy we give her glutton, it was hard to decide on one for her, but I think this one works (and if I think about Happy the dwarf, he could be a glutton maybe.)

Here are Joy and Daphne after a bit of an update to both. I tried to give both girls clothing that matched their respective dwarf’s clothing, at least in color. I think they are both really cute girls. Joy, I didn’t mention before, got the Artistic Prodigy aspiration and will be working on completing that.

Chores do not really end, and Snow also wants to keep up with her bunny friends. Stella is the white bunny we named last round, and now we have met a few new bunnies. I don’t remember what all we have named any of the new ones, although I know we have a Thumper now.

With the family growing, they do keep Snow from being able to work on crafts nearly as often as she was before and everyone is quite tired by the end of the night. Joy is already getting started in school, and both girls are not going to have any issues with completing the things they need to. Joy already got all toddler skills to 3. You can also see Snow is quite pregnant by this point.

Now that Joy is older she is able to help with the chores, which is a HUGE help to her very pregnant mom. We also, among the different chores we ran for the grocery stand woman, got a treat that turned Clyde green. We quickly sheered him and got the green wool.

It’s time for the next baby, and baby 3 is here already. Only 4 more children to go for Snow. So many kids. Anyway, meet our first boy of the challenge, Blaze. He is going to be based on Grumpy dwarf for his coloring and his name is meant to be a bit of a nod to it. I wonder what our next 4 babies will be. At least we have one boy.

Snow has a rough day the day they turn off our water. I feel like we should try and get some water collectors for Snow as she is a dirty mess after taking care of all the animals. You can also see we officially have a rooster now. Poor Snow, however, with adding onto the house and adding more beds and kid items is still very much struggling with money.

It’s time for Daphne’s birthday already and so Snow manages to get her to a cake in time. Daphne will be getting a makeover shortly, but for her “bad” trait she gets Erratic. I know it’s not really specifically a trait that says Dopey, but it’s the closest I felt like I could get for a child trait.

Here we can see Daphne after her makeover, and the girls are getting closer. They do their homework on a rare beautiful clear day. The snow had finally melted and made it a nice day to be outside. I forgot to mention before Daphne also rolled to get the Artistic Prodigy aspiration. I’m looking forward to getting new aspirations with the new pack soon.

Carson is over again and it’s time to see if we can get started on baby number 4. I would really like to have the fourth baby here before the end of the round, but we are running out of time. Carson stays around and meets his girls, and little Blaze as well. These are, after all, all going to be his kids.

Our little boy is ready to grow up and Blaze is now a toddler. Snow quickly works with him a tiny bit on skills, and then it’s time for him to be put to bed. Blaze gets the Fussy trait for his toddler trait and we will get to see more of him soon.

Here is Blaze after a bit of a makeover so you can see him better. He got a lot of his daddy’s coloring, more so than his sisters. It’s nice that we have slightly different genetics with all these kids, but it’s pretty clear they are siblings as well.

We get the news, while we were paying attention to the children, that Snow is expecting. That means we should get to meet baby 4 before we have to move on from the family again.

In the meantime, however, we have to spend time with the kids and continue keeping the farm alive. Snow has been able to keep up with the farm thanks to her daughters being able to help now, but she hasn’t made it to the stand to sell anything in a little while. So once she got the kids fed and set up for the day it was time to head out.

Snow is happy to see her friend running the stand today, and after a small conversation, and haggling a bit to get a better price Snow sells her items. This is the best we’ve ever done, and the profit we have will help immensely. We’ve barely ever cracked over 1000 simoleans in our bank at any time before.

We are getting close to the end of this season and that brings some sadness to the farm. Both our chickens pass into the next life, although luckily with the money Snow brought in we are able to get a couple more. We will miss our chickens, however, as they were our first. Joy, however, is starting to get good at taking care of Clyde and has become a bit help.

It’s now Winterfest, and we start with Winterfest Eve, followed by Winterfest, and we start the celebration by adding some pretty decorations to the farm. I really love this little house and farm that Snow has, and you can’t even really see the extension we added onto the house from this angle.

Winterfest does not mean we take a break, however, as the farm and animals still need taken care of. We also now have a bunny stump and a bird tree on the farm, and both provide us with gifts for the holiday as well. I really love these interactions and it’s so pretty to see birds flying all around the farm now.

The family participates in many various Winterfest traditions and enjoys a decently quiet morning. Presents are opened after having a grand breakfast, and even though he wasn’t captured in these pictures, Blaze was also here. The rest of the day is spent taking care of the farm.

That evening, however, finds Father Winter visiting. Technically he shouldn’t be allowed in the house, but I wasn’t thinking about him being a stranger, and since he shows up on his own I just let the kids ask for gifts and let him leave.

On the last day of this challenge, Snow feels a familiar twinge at breakfast and knows it’s time for the baby to make an appearance. Snow heads up to the bassinet and gives birth to a new baby girl. Welcome, Shai to the family. Shai’s counterpart would be Bashful, as you can probably deduce.

As winter starts to leave the land and spring is ready to take over, Snow, grateful for what this will mean for her plants, heads out to check on all the various animals that now call the farm home. Snow has multiple chickens again, and the birds are very friendly and provide Snow with multiple gifts. The bunnies do as well, and even the girls are getting to know the various bunny friends.

However, it is 4 AM and while Snow is going to be waking up to take care of Shai soon, the rest of the kids are sound asleep. Next round we will hopefully have the last 3 kids that Snow needs, ending, of course, with Cinderella’s counterpart. I will have to decide what to do with Cinderella’s story soon. For now, however, we will leave the family and head back to the Hundred’s. I hope to see you there!
